A developer client asked us to capture the eclectic fusion of old and new in their flagship project in Leeds. This historic group of buildings, courtyards and urban spaces provides retail, residential and commercial premises.

The client was looking for photography to illustrate a Media Centre within the complex – a purpose-built, design-conscious development to meet the needs of the thriving creative and digital industries in the city and surrounding region.

I was asked to produce abstract shots that conveyed the cool and trendy image of the stunning modern design juxtaposed with the historic original building. We used reflection to capture the essence of the development along with thumbnail, detailed shots to tease the viewer into wanting to see more.

They wanted a fresh, original approach that felt contemporary, interesting and funky. Using imagination and lateral thinking we were able to create this shot, which fitted the bill perfectly, and has attracted a great deal of positive comment.
