Photography isn't just to do with cameras and lighting - at least with us it's not. We research and plan, select the best cameras and lighting. Then in our own retouching studio, we can add those special touches to deliver exactly what our clients need. Should we call this the "Brucie bonus"..?
All round creativity
The architects who designed a new creative suite to sit in the grounds of a prestigious advertising agency alongside the attractive original hall, were looking for suitable creativity in the photography of their work. They came to the right place - me! I decided to use nature's colours to add serenity and calm to the view here. It's all done with weather reports, minute detail and state of the art equipment - oh, and Ian Bruce creative genius too!
Thank God it worked!
Having transformed a dark interior space into a pleasanter, lighter place of worship, the architects appointed by Leeds Cathedral wanted me to record scenes over a two day period. During the many services I obviously couldn't control the lighting, nor interrupt at all. Fortunately with the right digital equipment I am able to address such situations and provide a good selection of very effective images.
A glass Mona Lisa?
We always maintain we show buildings and architectural features in their best light and this atrium is a lovely example. It is actually set in an area with white walls and exposed grey structural steel so when planning the lighting I used special colour filters. This enabled me to portray this really beautiful atrium to its full potential. The building designers were delighted with my creative interpretation.
You can view this shot from any direction and you'll always see a really interesting and timeless piece of work. Signor da Vinci beware!
